ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
10th International Symposium on Sjögren’s Syndrome Brest, France October 1-3, 2009
THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION HAS BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL : Wenesday, July 15, 2009
Abstract Awards : Five abstract awards in the amount of 400 euro each will be awarded to poster presenters. The chair people of each of the five "sessions for debate" are invited to select one of five abstracts (pre-selected by the organizing committee). The authors who must be a young investigator (PhD student, trainee) will be awarded 400 euro. These juries will operate under the responsibility of S Krilis (Etiology session), Y Shoenfeld (Clinics & Biology session), HM moutsopoulos (Pathophysiology session), Peter Lipsky ( Treatment session) and S Sugai (Epidemiology session).
GUIDELINES FOR ABSTRACTS:
General information:
1. Abstracts should be written in English. 2. Data may have been presented at another meeting. 3. Applications will be selected for oral presentation by the international scientific committee based on their relevance to the topics included in the symposium and their originality. 4. Guided visits of the posters will be organized, in addition to oral communications.
Presenter:
1. The presenter must be present during the entire poster session. The organizers may invite poster authors to present briefly their work. 2. The presenter must either be one of the investigators on the project or one of the authors of the abstract and have permission from the additional investigators and authors to present the research at this meeting. It is the presenter’s responsibility to communicate with co-authors and obtain their permission for presentation at the symposium.
Submission:
In addition to submitting the abstract, please adhere to the following guidelines for the abstract submission : 1. Length of the title of submitted abstract is limited to a maximum of 250 characters for the title and 2,000 characters for the text (not including spacing or disclosures). 2. Abstracts should include: Title Authors Institution(s) Statement of purpose Methods, materials and analytical procedures Results Figures, tables, graphs and legend (if necessary) Conclusion 3. Titles should be brief and clearly represent the presentation. 4. If abbreviations used in the abstract or poster are unusual, upon first use, spell out the full word followed by the abbreviation in parentheses. 5. The resolution for graphic images should be at least 300 dpi.
Disclosure statements and use of product names:
1. Presenters must include a disclosure statement, designating on the poster whether or not any potential conflicts of interest pertinent to the research submitted exists. Declarations should state whether the presenter receives money in any form (for example: stocks, employment, grants, consulting fees) from companies directly related to the research. 2. Providers of research support should be acknowledged. 3. Proprietary drug names may appear only once in the abstract and in parentheses after the first use of the generic or scientific name. After that one-time use, the generic or scientific name only may be used.
Copies of Abstracts and Posters
1. Copies of abstracts will be included by the organizers in the materials distributed to symposium participants. 2. No abstracts or posters will be released to attendees prior to the workshop.
